classes that very year seemed to drag on forever. being a senior, all angelyn wanted to do was to get out of high school and start living her life the way she wanted. although she loved the comfort of being able to freely practice her powers on school grounds and the thought that she could wake up everyday and see her friends, she wanted to be more than this high school student. plus, she wasn't even just that. angie was less than that. people barely noticed her in the halls unless they bump. there would be contact for two seconds, speech for two seconds and then she and whoever she bumped into would be on each other's way. there would be no fighting for angie would apologize immediately. even if someone had rushed into her as she stood rigid by her locker, she would still apologize for ramming into him or her. plus, if she broke an arm and the other broke a nail, she would help the other person first before even wailing out in agony. thus, angie received very little human contact and she's not quite trained in it at that.[/b] five eight nine!
therefore, although class was slow angie had no one to talk to. she sat by herself, dead center in the second row. people talked over her, whispering and even shouting at times. she would listen in to conversations, silently going over other people's problems and working them out herself as if she would someday walk up to them and suggest what they should do. no, instead, she keeps her thoughts to herself, eyes barely shifting from side to side. sometimes people would just be getting over a break up and she wouldn't be able to help feel a bit sorry for the person. then she would hear that the guy had been cheating on the poor girl, thus adding to angie's rage. she had very little rage, but it was growing inside of her, gnawing at each 'good bone' in her body and replacing them with 'bad bones'. her thoughts flashed back to what her sister had said about a week ago in the park. teagan must be right. angie had no 'bad bone' in her body. then again, her sister wasn't the brightest crayon in the box.
suddenly, the loud shifting of chairs and eager feet, broke angelyn's thoughts. what was happening? her eyes glanced up at the board where the teacher announced in big letters: PROJECT. PAIR UP WITH A BUDDY. at those words, angie immediately panicked. she never liked group projects. she was always the one left being either the odd one and having to become the third wheel to another pair or being the one who was paired with the second to last person in the classroom who everyone either ignored, hated or picked on for various reasons. yet she usually did her part of the project, sometimes taking more of it than she asks for, but angie never minds those things. she's usually happy just getting the project done. however, the pairing process was grueling. all angelyn could do was sit in her chair and wait for everyone to grab a buddy, who was usually their best friend or someone they talked to in class. angie talked to no one for she was usually focused on studying. thus, she sat there and waited, waited for the whole thing to finally be over.
